Frustration mapping is the pre-switching research equivalent of a teardown. The team shadows users through their current workflow, noting every moment of confusion, delay, rework, workaround, and apology. Each frustration is a potential push force. The map becomes the design brief: which frustrations are severe enough to drive switching, and which does our solution actually solve?
