Progress Profile

A composite view of a user's progress across functional, emotional, and social dimensions over time.

A progress profile tracks not just whether the user completed a task, but how they felt doing it, how they were perceived by others, and whether the outcome met their expectations. It is the antidote to vanity metrics. A user might have a high activation rate (they logged in) but a low progress profile (they felt frustrated, looked incompetent, and didn't achieve their goal). Progress profiles reveal why metrics that look good on dashboards don't translate to retention.
