Receipts

Tangible evidence of progress that a product provides to the user, proving that their time and effort produced value.

Receipts are the visible, shareable outputs that prove a user made progress. A completed task list, a generated report, a saved draft, a shared link — these are all receipts. Receipts serve the social job ("look what I accomplished") and the emotional job ("I did something worthwhile"). In AI-native products, receipts are especially important because AI work can feel invisible: the user prompts, the AI responds, but where is the proof of effort? Products that generate receipts — exportable outputs, version history, shareable links — make the user's work tangible and defensible.
