Survivorship Bias in UX Research
The error of studying only current users and missing what caused non-users or churned users to leave.
Survivorship bias in UX research means talking to people who stuck around and concluding the product is working. The real signal is in the people who didn't stick: what pushed them away, what anxiety stopped them, what workaround they reverted to. The Firing Arc is the antidote: systematically study churn, not just retention.
