Peak-End Rule is a heuristic principle describing how users remember and evaluate experiences. It states that people judge an experience largely based on how they felt at its peak and at its end, rather than the total sum or average of every moment. In product design, Peak-End Rule means that one terrible moment and one great moment matter more than a hundred mediocre moments. Products should design for peak experiences and graceful endings, not just consistent mediocrity.
