The Timeline Interview
Chronological interview mapping events from first push to post-hire usage.
The timeline interview reconstructs the user's switching journey in order: first thought, passive looking, active looking, deciding, first use, ongoing use. Unlike surveys that ask opinions, timeline interviews map causes. The chronological structure prevents retrospective rationalization — users can't rewrite history when you ask them to walk through it step by step.
