Designing AI That Users Can Defend

The first time someone uses your AI product in a real workflow, they’re not asking, “Is this smart?” They’re asking something much more dangerous to your adoption curve:

“If this goes wrong, can I explain myself?”

Because in a team setting, the decision to adopt an AI tool isn’t a personal preference. It’s a reputational bet. It’s a Slack thread. It’s a manager asking, “Where did this number come from?” It’s a customer escalation. It’s a postmortem.

What changes when users get
